With Many Thanks, We a Happy to Publish these Many Emails of Appreciation

I'm pretty sure I speak for the class of '87 when I say we all had a great time. We were the last ones out of the Sports Centre Saturday night if that's any indication. :)

Another personal highlight was seeing my mother and two uncles, myself *and* my brother all pictured in the Sports room. That made my day that we were all there!

So, thank you all for the hard work and dedication this event must have taken. Looking forward to the 75th.

All the best
Andrea Hazard

Once again we just wanted to send kudos for a job well done. We are leaving tomorrow for the west for 2 months, but when we return, if you like we can send some of the photos we took of the reunion. Please let me know if you are interested to post these to the website.

Cheers,

Suzie & Brian Hennessy

To those hundreds (it must have been) who worked so hard and so long to create such a memorable weekend,

I just had to send this to tell you all what a glorious reunion you guys put together.
My only complaint is that it all ended far too quickly. I was just getting "into it" when Sunday afternoon came and brought an end to a fantastic experience.
To meet and talk to people I hadn't seen in almost fifty years was something that defies description. ( I left Quinte in '59 )
A heartfelt thank-you to each and everyone of you for providing all of us with a weekend we'll never forget.

Terry Flynn

Many thanks to all of the organizers and volunteers.
It was quite experience to return to QSS after 32 years!
I would have to say it was a "emotionally charged" in meeting so many former class-mates and students who traveled on the old 3rd line bus route. I really enjoyed the displays in the school especially the sports area in the gym. The ceremonies Sat am and the Harrier run were great....survived the outing! (The hill at the end was just the way I remembered it) Sat evening and Sunday's breakfast were incredibly enjoyable.
Compliments on the excellent organization...I was really impressed by the to-day's students that volunteered so much of their time to help look after the old guys!
Many thanks for such an enjoyable and well organized experience!

Thanks for a super weekend. My husband who is from BCI (we won't hold that against him) had just as much fun as I did. Congratulations for a huge job well done. Just wish it could happen again before 25 years. I don't know if I will be able to get around with my walker but I suppose there will be a lot like me so the committee then will have to arrange walker and wheel chair parking and there will have to be wider aisles at the banquet! Just Kidding.

Will the web site be accepting photos from the reunion? That would be a fun thing to see. I will keep looking to see your reply on the web site or you can let me know.

Thanks again for a wonderful weekend of good friends and revived memories.

Just wanted to send a quick email to say Thank you for a job well done. The weekend activities were well planned – the festivities were great. (so was the weather…what a bonus)

So much work went in to this, and all the volunteers deserve a huge thank you.

It was a great reunion. Met and talked with over 60 co-students and teachers - most I had not seen for over 40 years. A special thanks to all the volunteers. You should be quite proud of what you achieved.

To All Volunteers

Conventional wisdom says "You Can Never Go Home Again" and I generally believe within the context intended, it is a truism. However, the reunion week-end definitely proved to be the exception to the rule. I had the opportunity to see and talk with over 60 old friends and acquaintances plus several of my favorite teachers from over 40 years ago. With the exception
of one individual, I had not seen any of them since the early to mid 60s.

I would like to thank all those that made this week-end possible - event organizers, theme room helpers and the countless others that put their efforts in to making this a truly memorable week-end. I even ran the Harrier (not walk/jog as I did as a student) in much better time than I ever did as a student. That says more about my conditioning back then than now!

A small suggestion for your "alumni" website - I noted in our 50s theme room (115) there was a sheet that initially listed 7 or 8 former students that had passed away. That sheet expanded to three sheets before the week-end was over as names were added that others were aware of that had passed on. Perhaps an in-memory page might be a suitable addition?

Once again "well done"

Dear Committee Members:
What a fabulous week-end. It was truly wonderful and it was obvious howmuch work you all had put into making this the huge success that it was. Thanks to all for making this happen. Could we please add our daughter Paula Newman to Class of '84 as attending reunion?
Again - thanks for making this week-end possible and thanks for the wonderful events that took place.

Secretary/Office Supervisor1976-2000)

Hi everyone involved in the Reunion.

Many THANKS.

The weekend was a great success. I met (and listed) 40 students I had taught in my two years at Quinte: 1957-1959.
Bev and I met teachers we had not seen for more than 40 years. All in all, a REALLY GREAT EVENT.

THANKS to everyone who helped make it such a SUCCESS.

Gerry (and Bev) Boyce

Really sorry I couldn't attend more than I did. But I took my daughter Sunday morning and did a little tour and saw a few people.

It looked well-organized and everyone seemed to be pleased.

Was glad to see that you are going to continue the site. One suggestion might be to add the memorial list that was in the classrooms so that people know who has died. Was surprised by some of the deaths and people might be interested to know. Maybe the memory boards as well. We could have some fun with the site.

Hi there,

I just wanted to take the time to extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation for all the work that went into this weekend’s reunion. I know how much goes into organizing and planning such an event. I commend all the volunteers and all those that worked behind the scenes on making the reunion run smoothly.

I personally had a fantastic time and will have very fond memories of this weekend for a very long time.

Thanks again,

Hi there...
Thanks for a great reunion, I didn't think I was going to have as much fun as I did! Although I missed the assemblies (due to too much visiting with long lost friends), I've heard nothing but great reviews.

Thanks

Many thanks to all the organizers and volunteers of the reunion this weekend. I had a great time , only wish more former classmates had come. It takes a lot of time and effort to put something of this size together . Great job. Patti (Wilson) Carter , Etobicoke, Ontario.

Just a note to thank all the organisers and committee members for a job well done! It was a lot of fun and great to see so many people and the school again. Looking forward to the 75th!

When I registered for the Reunion on Friday, 04 June, 2004, I mentioned on the registration form that I did not desire to be a part of the Alumni Association. Since my attendance at the Reunion on Saturday, 05 June, 2004, I have changed my mind in such a way that I wish to become a member of the Alumni Association.

Feel free to contact me for any further information in this matter. I thank-you for any co-operation in this regard.

A very big thank you to all the organising committee members. Well, done. I had a wonderful time it was beyond my wildest expectations.

Just want to thank all of you again for all your hard work to put together this reunion. We all owe you “big time”. It was an amazing weekend.

I had a fantastic time and so did everyone I talked to. We have made a pledge to not let another 25 years go by before we get together again and , hopefully, we will follow through with it.

Give yourself a big pat on the back!!

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone responsible for the events of last week end. You did a wonderful job. We had such a good time and thoroughly enjoyed getting reacquainted with "old" friends. We hated to see the w/e end and have now packed away a few more good memories. We were also happy to hear that you plan to continue with an
alumni site as we would like to keep in touch.

Many Thanks.

Ann, please pass on my thanks to everyone who made the reunion such a wonderful experience. It was a job well done!! It was great seeing so many friends and mentors from a most special time of our lives. The reunion was so much fun! THANKS AGAIN!!!
All the best .

Hello Quinte Reunion Committee.

IT WAS FABULOUS! ! ! ! ! Janet and I hadn't seen each other in 33 years. We were inseparable for the 4 years at Quinte and when entering the school it was like we had taken the "time machine" back to 1968! We slipped right back into our giggly teen age years. Even the school smelled the same. To see our teachers and fellow students was just unbelievable. Too bad more of our graduating class had not been there......their loss! There were a lot of "remember when", checking out our old lockers, sitting in our favourite bleachers seats, walking the halls and just having a fantastic time.

Thank you again for all your efforts at making the 50th a roaring success! Keep the web page going. It will be fun to check out pictures taken at the reunion.

Sincerely, Gwen Martin (nee Holt) class of 1968

Now that I have finally stopped dreaming about the glorious years of 1963-68, it is time to say thank you for the wonderful reunion. My brother Dave and sister Betty Graham and I all had a super time. As many others have said, it was really far beyond what I expected. It was great to see so many old friends and to make plans to renew those friendships.
Thanks to all the volunteers and specially to whoever owns the 1967 blue Camaro that sat outside the 60s room. My 15 year old son liked that the best!

Just a small note to let you know what a fantastic job you and your troups accomplished over the weekend. It was so very good to see people that I have't seen in over 30 years. Some I didn't even recognize at first but looking around at the number of people trying to glance at name tags it wasn't just me. Sat. night was a real blast. Met more people there I had't seen early as well we were all entertained by the elderly lady who got to dance at the first song and put on quite a show. Congradulations to her. I just I hope the rest of us are still that active as we hit the upper years. I only wish the reunion could have been longer so I could have visited friends a little longer and I missed some all together. Ther was a lot of addresses exchanged as well as e-mails. I got most off the websight but a couple I failed to get were Eric Benn or Janna (King) Keeling if any could share, thanks. I am at steve195292@hotmail.com. Again the organizers should all give yourselves a big pat on the back for a job well done.

To the Organizers and Volunteers,
My wife Karen (Butcher class of 65) and I (class of 66) would like to thank you for all your hard work to give us a great weekend. We had a wonderful time meeting old friends and classmates. We went to the 25th
reunion and wondered if the 50th would meet our expectations. We were not disappointed. It was everything we hoped for and more. Will there be any pictures to look forward to on this web site?

Thanks

Just a thank you to all involved with the 50th reunion. Gwen and I had a blast. We danced, sang and "remembered when" until we were hoarse. This opportunity will never be there for us again.
I was sad to see it end on Sunday, the weekend few by so quickly, and funny thing, we all look the same.
Thanks once again for the hard work that went into a weekend that will never be forgotten.

Just a quick note to say thanks to you and all the folks who worked so hard to make this Reunion what it definitely was ..a great success. For myself ...I am especially happy to have seen so many old friends and relived a bunch of great memories. The organization, variety of venues [ skits , plays , diplays , lunches , meet and greet , dance , bands ....absolutely wonderful ] ..Even saw a few old girfriends..hahaha...Anyway ...just again ..please pass my congratulations and thanks to all [ even though most won't have a clue who I am ] ..For me ..and I know every one I talked to....it was AWESOME......

I travelled from the Yukon Territory to see old friends at the 50th. Most I had not seen since 1969. Even though many years had passed faces were still recognizable. I was especially pleased to once again meet Henry Kafka, and Carolyn and Beverly Lewis. I had a great time and look forward to other reunions. Should any of you dare to venture to this north country don't hesitate to contact me for info. or a place to hang your hat.

Many thanks to all the ones who worked hard to put the reunion together! I had a great time visiting with friends I had not seen for over 40 years. The decade rooms were really great and being able to visit with teachers and students alike was a real treat. Thanks again. Kyle we enjoyed getting to know you and find out some of the background work that was done.

Hi Gang- Just a quick note to thank you all for the wonderful reU weekend. It was great to see the old gang again. Most of us were there, although we missed seeing Stick(Brian Hale) and Neill Dunning. We are already talking about having a classes of 72 /73 get together in the next few years. If we wait until the 75th most of us will probably be dribbling by then( and I don't mean basketballs:) Special thanks to Mary, Ann and Terry. I appreciate all the hard work that has gone into the planning of this big event over the past few years. Job well done folks. Enjoy a well-deserved rest this summer. Thanks again. All the best Sue Bennett(BENO-73 )

What a great reunion. It brought back so many memories of my years at Quinte. I was
there the day Quinte opened!!! It was so good to see so many graduates from those
early years and to also meet those who followed us.
Many thanks to the organizers and committee members. You did an amazing
job inorganizing such a great time.

June (Livingstone) Miller

Having been one of the original students who went to Quinte in 1954 when it was first opened I was more than a little anxious to meet some of the students from that era. It was very gratifying to be able to talk to people I hadn't seen since graduation (1958) and to find out what they had been doing all these years.

I am looking forward to the 75th reunion in 2029 and am making tentative arrangements for the big 100th year reunion in 2054. (If nothing else, I have learned to think positive over the years).

Thanks again for a great reunion.

I would just like to thank all who put their hearts and efforts into making this event such a spectacular success. I am really sorry that I couldn't make it, especially after reading Andrea Hazard's note of appreciation.
Before the reunion, I eagerly read all about the activities and events that were planned and made a mental note about which ones I would definately attend if I could have, but between living so far away (Fukuoka, Japan), with 2 children (1year and 3 years old), and working full-time, I couldn't make it.
I really wanted to meet up with the other graduates of '87 and other QSS friends and get a glance at other eras of Quinte. As well, I wanted to see the Sports room full of memories, tour the school, attend the dance for 80's/90's and I especially wanted to run the Harrier!
I just wanted to add my thanks and appreciation for a job well-done, even though I couldn't attend. I certainly would have had I been in Canada or at least in the same continent.

The Alumni Association's Website is a great idea and has brought me and many others back in touch with our friends/teachers even though we may be living so far apart. I hope more people post their photos from the reunion. Thanks for your efforts in this and if I can be of any help, please let me know.

All the best to all who planned & participated and made this an unforgettable weekend!

Hi Sandy, Ann et al,

I know I'm late sending this note of appreciation to you, but I want to say
"Thank You" for a tremendous weekend!! I am STILL talking about it to
people. I can't believe how much fun we had!! It was incredible to see ALL
those people, from ALL those years. What a HUGE success. I'm sure you're
very proud & you should be!! I can't imagine the amount of work & effort
went into the weekend, but it was well worth it!

My only regret was that I missed seeing some people that are listed on the
website as attending (how did that happen?), and that there wasn't more time
to visit. I loved the fact that there were people from every year there,
so I could see friends from ALL grades - what a blast!

I vote for my sister Jo as having the BEST time of anyone - she was close to
vibrating the whole weekend!! We left the school after picking up
registration packages & she stated that "if I were to go home now, I'd leave
happy". Little did she know of the fun that was yet to come!

Congratulations on a job well done, and I hope you're enjoying some well
deserved time off!!
